2019-12-20 - Vice-President Fawcett attended the TAFISA Annual Congress in Tokyo, Japan. His short report (EN / DE / FR) is attached here.

2019-12-05 - Mr. Werner Friedrich, President of IVV-Czech Republic, resigns as President on 01.01.2020. His office will be taken over by Mr. Zdeněk Němec. We would like to thank Mr Friedrich for his many years of cooperation and warmly welcome his successor, Mr Němec, as new President. We wish him every success in his new role.

2019-12-05 - The direct member club in Patalavaca, Gran Canaria will stop their membership on Dec 31, 2019.

2019-12-01 - The schedule of IVV/IML Cup walks for 2020 is now available online.

2019-11-18 - The Governing Council of IVV-Americas announces that there will be no Americaspiad in 2020. Other walking festivals in Australia and Canada for 2020 and beyond are as follows:

     Australia: Canberra 2-Day Walking Festival - 2020: April 04-05;

          2021: March 27-28; 2022: March 26-27

     Canada: Victoria, BC - Phoenix Walking Festival (every 2 years)

          2021: April 16-18

2019-10-27 - The IVV Presidium has approved an application for Direct Membership from the Cap Verde Islands. They are our first member in Africa, and their first events took place on 15-17 November 2019. The Second Annual Walking Festival will take place on November 13-15, 2020.

2019-04-08  IVV Online Database - NOW OPEN

After two years of work, the IVV-Digital Committee is pleased to announce that the new IVV online database is now open. This searchable, online database will include information about our members' Events and Permanent Trails around the world. Information found will be as the members have entered it, so you may contact the federation itself or the organizer directly for any further clarification. Information presented will be formatted for desktop computers, tablets and mobile phones. Thanks and congratulations to the committee members for their vision and hard work: Committee Chairman - Michael Mallmann (DVV), Guy Borsenberger (FFSP), Emil Dannemark (FBSP), Graham Fawcett (IVV), Georges Kintziger (FLMP), Walter Motz (IVV), and Tanja Müller (IVV).

As of today, a link to the new online database will appear in the bottom right corner of every page on this website. This website will contine to publish news, announcements and program information. Some members' walks information may continue to be published here. The online database will publish specific information about walking events of all kinds, as well as program information.

The 2019 Walking Programs for the British Walking Federation and the Japan Volkssport Association have been updated.

2019-02-08

A special World Walking Day, in conjunction with a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the IVV, will be held in Lindau, Germany on May 04, 2019. Two linear routes of 11 km each will be offered. The first walk will start at the Insel-Hotel Lindau, Maximilianstr. 42, D-88131 Lindau, and finish at Pier69 Hafenrestaurant, Seestr.4 A-6900 Bregenz. The second 11 km walk will return to the previous start point in Lindau. Start from 08:00 to 13:00; the Finish closes at 16:00.
